The Ganges River is one of the longest rivers in the world. In india it is called "Ganga Maiyya". The river emerges from high in the Himalayas. It begins in an ice cave in the mountains about 10,300 feet above sea level called Gomukh. The river flows across the northern corner of India. The Ganges flows across India and Bangladesh until it merges out into the Bay of Bengal. The great river provides water to many places, and many places rely on it. The water of the river at Haridwar is called "Ganga Jal", which is always a topic of research for the scientist of all over the world for it's purity and keeping it's quality intact for a long time.
