Deoprayag is situated at an altitude of 828 mts above sea level in the Garhwal region of Uttrakhand state on Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. From here onward two rivers are merged into one and known as Ganga.
According to the Sanskrit language, the term Devprayag means for 'Holy Confluence'. Devprayag is located in Tehri Garhwal district, and some area falls under Pauri district.
Devprayag is a very beautiful and holy place and is surrounded by three famous hills, named Giddhanchal Parvat, Narsinghancal Parvat and Dashrathanchal Parvat.
